dan brown and the symbolum davinci codi

RC blogger and sometime writer at Pontifications, Michael Liccione, has pointed the way to Dan Brown's admission that he actually believes all the nonsense he wrote in the DaVinci Code. Finally, all of his turning up on the television in tweed jackets, smoking pipes, is explainable: he really does take his own insanity that seriously. But they believe it all at Harvard too, don't they?

Read the whole thing here.

Sure, it's all true. Jesus' body is in a Vatican crypt and Mary Magdalene had a litter of Christ-child rugrats.

Why not? If the folks at EWTN can believe that "The Passion of the Christ" is even remotely accurate in its depiction of Our Lord's final moments, I see no reason why Dan Brown shouldn't be able to believe a version of Christianity that he made up himself.

It would be amusing that Dan Brown believed his own fantasy, except, as you note, so many partially taught Christians and many skeptics of Christianity around the world are buying it, too. That Dan Brown is so popular is a discouraging phenomenon to me.
