Today in Newport, Rhode Island, Fr. Kendal Harmon is preaching at St. John the Evangelist, one of the great catholic parishes in ECUSA. There is a votive mass for the ending of schism. May schism be ended. Please see my prayers against the same, here, here, and here.
I very much wanted to go, but have other commitments today. We all ought to join them in praying for the end of schism and heresy.

Thank for posting this information. I will pray for this parish.
Hey Will, I was looking through that church's website and I can't figure out what affiliation they have that makes them Anglican. I thought maybe they were part of AMiA or some non-communion sect, but then I saw that they list Ackerman as their bishop. So..er...what's their deal?
The ECUSA bishop of Rhode Island is Geralyn Wolf. St. John the Evangelist, unable to recognize her as being in Holy Orders, has requested alternative oversight, which Wolf has graciously allowed. Bp. Ackerman is their bishop, and they are an Episcopal parish. Here is something Fr. Ostman, the rector of SJE, has written on the subject of the parish's relationship with Wolf:

Many people have pointed to SJE and Rhode Island as a model for relatively unacrimonious Alternative Oversight. As you can see from Fr. Ostman's little essay, its not quite so simple. It still seems preferable to Bp. Smith and the CT-6. Who knows?
