the episcopal church house of bishops rejects the primates' requests

Read all about it here (or elsewhere). You can read the actual thing here. Their statements were filled with the tired rhetoric about the leadings of someone they think is the Holy Ghost (its a ghost alright: the Zeitgeist), and they even said that the Primates' requests in the Dar es Salaam Communique were a return to "colonialism." How pathetic.

"Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter." - Isaiah the Prophet

And again:

"A time is coming when men will go mad, and when they see someone who is not mad, they will attack him saying, 'You are mad, you are not like us'." - Saint Anthony the Great

Come on now, buck up. We knew this was coming. We're just called on to weather a heretical period. These Baby Boomers aren't going to live forever... and we all know that Americans do not deal well with ultimatums from the British. Have they learned nothing from history?

You have to admit, if Quackinola is going to clamp down on us about gay marriage, we can hardly ignore the anti-gay legislation in Nigeria. It goes both ways.

This is just turning up the heat-- its a power play. This will go on and on and on. Its not like they are going to kick us out of the Anglican Communion-- we bankroll most of it. They are going to give us some sort of symbolic spanking... making +KJS sit in a naughty chair at the next primates' meeting... something along those lines.

"...someone they think is the Holy Ghost ..."

- cute, Fr.

ECUSA needs a more vigorous doctrine of Hell to correct this noxious fluff.
