the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom

Here's a "wisdom quiz" that I found on the NY Times website. Supposedly it assesses how wise you are. My score: 3.5, which is "relatively moderate wisdom."

A better measure of wisdom is offered by T. S. Eliot in his poem "East Coker," one of the Four Quartets, written after his conversion to Christianity. This is a line I turn over frequently in my mind:

"The only wisdom we can hope to acquire is the wisdom of humility. Humility is endless."

I scored a 4. I have no idea how or why. But I did notice that the University of Florida is somehow involved, which gives me the opportunity to say GO GATORS even though that has nothing to do with this post.

4.3 for me. Guess wisdom comes with age. =)

I got 3.7: "relatively moderate wisdom." I suspect that's because I gave relatively moderate answers.

But I don't doubt that JT and mmbx are relatively wiser than I.

I got a 3.7. I count myself in your relatively moderately wise company, Fr. WB.

It's the Episcopal way: All things (ANYthing, apparently) in moderation. Even wisdom.
