I don't want ANYONE (regardless of race, creed, income, sexual orientation, warts, or shirt color) to have to experience the DMV as it is currently incarnate. No matter how rich or connected you are, you still have to go to the DMV and wait in line like everyone else. How many other things are like that in the USA? Transporation? Do you get on a crowded bus to go to work or get in your car? The DMV is especially good for rich Christians so they can see some of those (well, not those who take the bus) toward whom their wealth was supposed to be trickling down whilst they were doing the Lord's work for the GOP. Anyway, it only takes a few hours (well, perhaps all morning) and you can get right back to the Petroleum Club for lunch and forget all about such terribly dehumanizing experiences.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10205805.post-1159846461267512792006-10-02T22:34:00.000-05:002006-10-02T22:34:00.000-05:00Some years ago, shortly after Francisco Franco die...Some years ago, shortly after Francisco Franco died, Russell Baker in his "observer" column in the New York Times imagined Franco being sent to the New York DMV as his eternal punishment . . .Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10205805.post-1159843767550400172006-10-02T21:49:00.000-05:002006-10-02T21:49:00.000-05:00It is enough to push me to be a libertarian.
